DavyCrockettStory.org is an educational website established by Dr. Sterling Lacy and Community Christian Church of Texarkana TX. The purpose of this site is promoting patriotism and understanding of the constitution from a Christian citizen’s perspective. Dr. Lacy, a minister, christian counselor, author and political activist discovered the “Not Yours To Give” story while doing research for a new book. It was originally published in the book, “The Life and Times of David Crockett”, by Edward S. Ellis. After reading the moving story of how a simple farmer taught Crockett a lesson about how federal spending should be limited, Dr. Lacy realized how relevant that story is today.
After reading the story please leave your comments. You can also purchase a printed copies of the Not Yours To Give story, along with an audio book version of the story. These include commentary and biblical references from Dr. Lacy and are suitable for study groups, schools, civic organizations and individuals to learn how christian values can guide political thinking. All purchases are considered a tax deductable donation and all proceeds will go towards further community awareness of the principles of limited government held by David Crockett.
